Urbana Blog

Heather and some others who made the trip to the Urbana Conference will be posting their musings from their time there. Check back daily for more thoughts on what God is doing in the 22,000 students attending Urbana. Here’s the first post from Heather:
Everyone has arrived safely to Urbana in St. Louis! Currently there are over 22,000 students from 140 countries represented here at the conference. Tonight we had our first session with worship, music, dance, drama, video clips, prayer, a world parade and a testimony. Then an expository message on Ephesians 1:1-14 from a Sri Lankan man that is bringing hope to his suffering country. This first evening is just a taste of what the rest of the conference has in store, very exciting! The overall mood seems to be one of excitement and anticipation, as so many students are gathered together to seek God and His direction for their lives. Many may be considering missions for the first time this week. Others already know that they are called to missions, but need further direction. Please pray that God would work in people’s hearts in a mighty way this week!

Heather,
The conference sounds amazing. The pastor at the church I grew up with was from Sri Lanka, but left to go help with the cleanup efforts after the tsunami. The message from Urbana’s keynote must have been incredible.
Hope you guys are having a great time!
