Summer Connexion
April 22nd, 2008 by Dan Waugh
Summer Connexion is just around the corner! We kick off May 11th at 8pm. If you haven’t been around Bloomington for the summer, it’s great. Beautiful weather, less stress, shorter lines at restaurants and less bus traffic are just a sampling of the benefits of summer. Add summer Connexion to that mix and I’m sure you’re already getting excited for it.
What makes summer Connexion so great? 1) Great commmunity. We really focus on fellowship and community. Discussion groups, weekly Steak and Shake feasts, bbqs, outings and so much more really make the summer a great place to get to know people. 2) The book of Philippians. That’s what we’re studying this summer - a book that is our ‘Field Guide to Joy’. 3) Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies. We always offer opportunities to join with others for study and community. 4) Did I mention Steak and Shake feasts? 5) More intimate setting. We move out of the sanctuary and into the more intimate setting of the Youth Center (the old sanctuary). It really helps us feel close to each other (sometimes we’re sitting on each others laps). 6) Guest speakers. I know many of you were blessed by the guest speakers last summer, even the Scottish dude.
Ok, if that’s not enough to convince you to come out for Summer Connexion, I’ve got more - but you’ll just have to come and experience for yourself. See you May 11th.
