Monday is Memorial Day, which means no Connexion on Sunday night. However, some of us are still getting together for a road trip to Louisville to take in a baseball game and a tour of the Louisville Slugger museum/factory. We’ll be back next Sunday night at 8pm, so plan on join us for worship, for discussion and prayer and great times of fellowship.

Are you ready for summer? It’s not officially here till June 21st, but for our purposes it starts this Sunday night at 8pm. Summer Connexion is an awesome time to grow in community with other students sticking around Bloomington. We really focus on fellowship and community through the next few months and offer plenty of opportunities for discussions, prayer, hanging out and good old fashioned fun!
This focus on community carries into our worship and teaching. Summer worship is more accoustic, more laid back, but just as passionate and God-centered. And the teaching is involves a little more discussion than you’d see during the school year, but still deep and practical. This summer, we’ll be looking at faith from all different angles and asking how does faith connect to my worship, to my holiness, to present life and future hopes.

We look forward to seeing you Sunday night - and keep your eyes open for things like cookouts, ultimate frisbee, trips to ball games, open mic nights, service projects and so much more…

Though it doesn’t exactly feel like it, summer is just around the Connexion. I love Bloomington in the summer - less bus traffic is a huge plus! I also look forward to summer Connexion.

This summer, things will be a little different. First, we’re not taking the whole month of May off like we did last year. We kick off summer Connexion on May 13th. Also, we’ll be meeting on Sunday nights at 8pm this summer (not Thursday nights like last summer, and a little later than during the school year). We’ll enjoy times of worship, studying God’s Word, group discussion, prayer and great fellowship.

Also, keep your eyes out for some great cookouts, outings, Bible Studies and more!

Don’t forget - we’re back this Sunday night and would love to see you at Connexion, 7pm!

This week, we’ll be talking about two very relevant and sometimes controversial questions - is the spiritual gift of prophecy for today and how does the Holy Spirit lead us? At first glance, they may appear to be seperate, unrelated questions, but as you dig it’s amazing how much overlap there is.

In an ongoing effort to really get to know each other, we thought it would be really benefitial to highlight one Connexion leader per week. We would really hate to have people show up on Sunday night expecting to be greeted and to join in worship only to find an empty church. Remember, this week, and this week only, Connexion moves to Saturday night at 7pm. We’ll be back next week at our regular time on Sunday night.

Albert Camus invited us into community when he wrote,”Don’t walk in front of me; I may not follow. Don’t walk behind me; I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend.” We all need those people who will walk beside us as friends in the faith - friends who’ll encourage us when we need it, celebrate with us, enter into our struggles, and give us a kick in the pants when we need it… (more…)
